Issued June 15, 2010

Collagen is such an important part of our skin. Collagen is a Greek word that means glue producing and another term for it is connective tissue.
Vitamin C (in whatever amount) may not be sufficient to replace the lost elasticity of the skin.

Collagen as part of our skin
Plazan Skin Care Article

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body. It is regarded as the substance that holds the whole body together and can be found in the bones, muscles, skin and tendons

Collagen acts as scaffolding for our body. It helps control shapes and differentiation of cells. 75 % of our skin is collagen.

Collagen and elastin - two fibrillar albumens making a basis of conjunctive tissue. Both albumens are the important elements for sustenance of the skin elasticity and youth.

Seventy-five percent of our skin is collagen. However, as we age, our face looses elastin and collagen as an effect of gravity, sun exposure and many years of facial movements such as smiling, chewing and squinting. Vitamin C in whatever amount may not be sufficient to replace the lost elasticity of the skin.

Your age will now show in your face, which is of course, what most women dread.

Cosmetic ingredients opportunities to moisturise skin and make skin more elastic
Clinical tests

The Quality Anti Aging Skin Care and cosmetics products must contain two active ingredients: active moisturizer (for example hyaluronic acid) and active plasticizer (such as elastin and collagen). In this case you can be sure to achieve the desired results.

The obtained results show that the investigated ingredients can be divided into two groups:
- the first group includes those components which possess good moisturizing effect but insignificantly improve skin elasticity;
- the second group includes products that significantly improve elasticity but do not show good moisturizing results.

Thus, we can say that moisturizers undoubtedly influence skin elasticity, but at the same time
THERE IS NO LINEAR CORRELATION BETWEEN THE CAPACITY OF ONE OR ANOTHER INGREDIENT TO MOISTURIZE SKIN AND MAKE IT MORE ELASTIC.
