Skin Care Article: DNA Repair Cream. Part 2 How DNA mutations happen?
Issued November 15, 2016

Today biologists are convinced that in the future spare parts for humans will become common practice dues to the development of the Stem Cell Technologies. (not to be confused with cell extracts)

However and besides that in theory, any cells of human body can be generated. The insufficiently studied Stem Cells Methods should not be applied in beauty salons or used in cosmetics.

How DNA mutations happen?

It is proved that UV radiation can cause serious damage to skin cells, as well as formation of free radicals interacting with DNA.

When DNA duplicates as a result of cell division double spiral divides into two threads and on each of them daughter thread is constructed: thymidine always sets opposite adenine, and cytosine is opposite guanine. Active molecule of a free radical can attach itself to a nucleotide, causing a change in its structure; and when DNA duplicates “wrong” nucleotide appears opposite the changed one in the daughter thread. At the next division of the cell this mutation is settled.

Scientists have already managed to grow bone and cartilage tissue out of the bone marrow cells; they have high hopes for these achievements. It is not possible, of course, to get the whole spectrum of cells at once; nonetheless some medical issues will be solved in the nearest future.

How a cell protects itself?

Main Mechanisms of Skin protection image The growing knowledge of the skin's physiology mean that it is possible to prevent and even repair skin damage which occurs later on in life. Thus, the latest researches in Main Mechanisms of skin protection is focused on developing skin protection products not from a plain Sun Protection Factor but from the cells themselves.

A cell with many mutations can be harmful for the body. Therefore, when a cell cannot repair the damage, the next step of protection is launched. There is a special protein in cells - p53 - which either suspends the division of a cell till the DNA damage reparation is finished or engages its "programmed death" to prevent the reproduction of the cell with changed DNA. Then again the gene encoding p53 can be damaged by UV and in this case the cells with DNA mutations will be able to divide.
