Skin Types.
Your information guide

Our skin consists of three main layers
- epidermis,
- dermis,
- subcutaneous - each of which has various sub-layers.

The skin care products offered today have all been designed to work together synergistically to provide your skin with all the essential nutrients it needs day and night - 24 hours a day and more.

Normal skin

Skin is smooth & even; has healthy & bright appearance; has no visible problems.

The epidermis is the outer layer of constantly regenerating cells that gradually keratinize and flake off as they move from the innermost layer to the outermost. Under this, we have the dermis - a complex layer of elastic (elastin) and inelastic (collagen) connective tissue, oil, scent and sweat glands, hair follicles, blood vessels, and nerve fibers all 'cemented' together with a hyaluronic acid. Then finally the subcutaneous is a fatty tissue with connective fibers, larger blood vessels and nerve fibers.

  • Always make sure that your hands are perfectly clean.
  • Apply cleanser over your face & lips by gently massaging the cleanser into the skin using small circular movements.
  • Always use a cleanser that suits your skin type.
  • Once a week use a facial scrub, apply to damp skin.

Oily skin.

Skin is shiny; has enlarged pores; is prone to acne & blackheads; produces excessive sebum.

What causes oily skin?
Usually oily skin is the result of overactive sebaceous (oil) glands that cause an accumulation of dead skin cells in hair follicles.
Overactive sebaceous glands are usually the result of a hormone imbalance, whether permanent or temporary.
For example, prolonged stress and anger causes an increase in adrenaline in the body, which in turn leads to an increase in androgen - the group of hormones that are responsible for an increase in the secretion of sebum (the liquid that the sebaceous gland excretes). External factors can also cause or aggravate oily skin such as a humid climate or overexposure to the sun.

Contrary to common opinion, oily skin needs gentle care rather than aggressive treatment. Harsh scrubbing will stimulate even more oil production while washing too often can excessively dry the skin, trapping impurities beneath the skin's surface. The following are some tips on how to best care for oily skin.

General oily skin care

Facial Masks for oily skin

Beat an egg white until foamy and add the juice from half a lemon, a pinch of salt and a teaspoonful of High-Molecular Plazan.
Apply mask and leave on for 10-15 minutes before washing off with lukewarm water.
Apply the mask 2-3 times a week.

Beat an egg white until foamy and add a spoonful of honey, one tablespoonful of oat flour and a teaspoonful of High-Molecular Plazan. Mix well.
Apply for 10-15 minutes, then wash off with lukewarm water.
Apply the mask 2-3 times a week.

After applying any of the above Facial Masks it is essential to use a hydrating cream such as those in the Plazan Cream of Diamond series.

Dry skin

Skin may flake & chap; produces low level of sebum; feels taut after washing; has a translucent thin appearance; may feel tight.

What causes dry skin?
Although some people are genetically predisposed to dry skin, environmental influences are often the principal cause of dried, chapped or irritated skin. Cold, dry weather, harsh detergents and soaps, prolonged exposure to the sun and an inadequate water consumption can all contribute to dry skin. And if the skin remains too dry for too long it can cause more serious skin problems.

Dry skin has a rough, dull looking texture without shine. Pores tend to be smaller as less oil is produced causing the skin to be more vulnerable to chapping, flaking and wrinkles if not well hydrated.

General care for dry skin

  • Avoid overexposure to the sun and always use sun block
  • Wear gloves while washing dishes or cleaning around the house to avoid harsh detergents and cleaners aggravating the skin
  • Use mild, PH-balanced or moisturizing gels and soaps in the shower
  • Maintain the skin well hydrated and protected with creams that contain effective moisturizers such as hyaluronic acid
  • Clean pores of dirt and oil by steaming (place head over sink with hot water and cover with a towel). This will also stimulate circulation and moisturize the skin
  • Assure the air inside the house isn't too dry, particularly with air conditioning and central heating. Place bowls of water near heating units or wet towels on radiators
  • Take baths with chamomile oil mixed in the water
  • Ensure that your laundry detergent doesn't aggravate your skin's condition.

Facial Masks for dry skin

Mix 100 g of honey with the juice from half a lemon and two teaspoonfuls of High-molecular Plazan.
Use the mask daily, apply it for 15 minutes, then wash it off with cool water.

Mix a teaspoonful of High-molecular Plazan with an egg yolk and apply to skin for 10 minutes, then wash it off with lukewarm water.
Apply the mask twice a week.

After applying any of the above Facial Masks it is essential to use a hydrating cream such as those in the Plazan Cream of Diamond series.

Combination skin

Skin has more than 1 skin type; is oily in the T-zone but cheeks are dry; has enlarged pores in T-zone.

Sensitive skin

Skin is dry & delicate; is often allergic to detergents, some cosmetics and changes in temperature; can be red & blotchy.

The term "sensitive skin" has, apparently, taken permanent position in our lives. But the answer to the question: "What is sensitive skin?" is still not clear for many people.
sensitive Skin

The following could be the signs of skin "sensitiveness":
    - irritation,
    - redness
    - skin peeling.

*   They may appear after use of cosmetics or skin care products.
*   Other people might have signs of "sensitive skin" after changing weather conditions (heat, cold, in the strong wind).
*   Irritations may appear due to alcohol use, some food, during stress, or change of climate.
*   Feeling of tense, burnt or redness of skin may appear in windy or air-conditioned places.
*   Similar signs as well as red spots may appear after washing with soap, during period or menopause.
*   Such skin reactions are very often taken for allergy or dermatologic disease.

Aging skin

Beginning in our late twenties, our body's connective tissue production (collagen and elastin) begins to slow down. What's more, the existing collagen and elastin fibers lose tone and unravel, resulting in poor elasticity and loose and soggy skin. Skin also begins to dry and wrinkles appear as its supportive fat layer (subcutaneous) thins and its ability to retain moisture lessens. In addition, external factors such as the sun's ultraviolet rays, smoking and pollution affect our skin's condition and appearance.

People have no intentions of putting up with aging. Today they are turning to alternative therapies and anti-aging products, however, they will not spend money on products which do not produce the desired results.

Mayonnaise mask for age-specific skin

First apply High-molecular Plazan (1 ml) to the face, then on top of it apply beaten egg yolk. Continuously dip fingers in warm water while applying the egg yolk. When the egg yolk mixes with the High-Molecular Plazan a mayonnaise-like mass should be formed. Keep the mask on for 15-20 minutes before removing with a dry cotton cloth.
Apply the mask 2-3 times a week.

After applying of the Mayonnaise mask for age-specific skin it is essential to use a Collagen cream or Plazan Cream of Timeless series.
